Spread the Word!

Good Morning Book Lovers!

Honestly, I can hardly wait for the day that I can devote more time to reading.  There are seasons in life that tend to be more challenging and this is definitely one of them.  All that being said, we as a family are very grateful for this opportunity for me to be able to work and help our family but being separated and not living in Mexico has been in short, difficult.

Years back, when we lived stateside, we lent our home out for ministry purposes and it was destroyed and robbed on more than one occasion.  I have been working at a hospital in Texas for almost two years and will probably continue for another couple of years until we are all caught up and the kitchen and prayer loft are finished.  God has been so good during this process, I have a wonderful job and family and the future is as bright as the promises of God.  This week I am headed off to a special dinner gala where I will be honored as well as some of my workmates for excellence in the medical field.  I am so blessed.

My favorite “mom” moment was when I married my 1st husband. His son was there, my son was there and we were at the courthouse and the judge asked our boys who were both 4 at the time if they wanted more mommy and daddy to get married and they both said yes. It was just a magical mom moment for me. Of course now they are 26 and both married but I still see our sons standing there with us.

Favorite mom memory is riding horses on Easter and having a picnic that same day. My favorite mom memory of being a mom is hearing my (then) 5 year old telling how Jesus was born and lives in our hearts.

It’s really hard for me to share just one moment. I have so many. My favorite memories was when my girls would make things for me from Art to little gifts. My girls are all adults now and I do miss it. But I am now looking forward to the day I get to be a “GRAND”ma. 🙂

I became a mom for the tirst time with a son when my husband was stationed on Guam. I went into labor two weeks before my due date. It was typhoon season and a typhoon was bearing down . The barometric pressure caused a lot of ladies to go into labor. There were 36 babies at Naval Hospital. They ran out of basinettes and had to send down to the ER. It was a Tuesday, my regular checkup day but I didn’t make the appointment. My girlfriend, who was due that week, went to her appointment but didn’t deliver her girl until two weeks later. She was kinda mad!
Back in the states, My second son was born three years later and there were 35 babies in that hospital! Almost ran out of delivery rooms because there were three of us ready to deliver asap. They ran out of recovery rooms, so I went back to a labor room.
