Navy beans with ham, served with hot cornbread and honey. Growing up, this was Monday dinner, a year round favorite at our house. 😁 Mom would fry potatoes and chop a fresh Walla Walla Sweet Onion to go with the big pot of beans and cornbread.

Vegetable beef barley soup. Brown 1 lb ground beef. Add to lg kettle 5 qts water, tomato sauce, 1/2 head cabbage, chopped; diced onion, carrots, celery, green pepper, 1/3 c barley, 1 Tbsp sugar, 1 Tbsp salt, Worcestershire and Italian seasoning. Simmer for at least 2 hours. May be cooked in crockpot for several hours.

Not homemade, my favorite is Campbell’s tomato soup. Instead of crackers, dip a plain potato chips and savor the flavor!
